Default WoodPro Turorial

Thanks. Very helpful. I was having seconds thoughts on my recent purchase of Laminate pro, but now I see it was a good investment. I do not find the help files are explicit enough. Tutorials are a big plus.

Default Using declinging and inclining cuts.

I don't currently have a video tutorial on this topic but here is a better description of how they work. It is MOST IMPORTANT to turn on your kerfs display by clicking on the 'kerfs' toolbar button. This will show you where the next sawcuts will be made.

A 1st generation pattern is always a chevron pattern and a single chevron pattern looks like the logo of Chevron Oil company. The left side of the pattern inclines and the right side declines. If you are going to cut a 1st generation board into a second generation board, you have to decide whether you are going to cut through the centers of the inclining patterns or the declining patterns.

In Lamination PRO, click on the 1st Generation toolbar button to display your chevron pattern and then click the 'kerfs' button to display where the next sawcuts are going to be made. You'll see that they are automatically positioned at the centers of either the inclining or declining patterns, depending on which of those two toolbar buttons is clicked.

With the inclining button clicked, advance to the second generation board by clicking 2 on the toolbar. Take a look at that design and then go back to the chevron board by clicking 1 on the toolbar. Turn on the kerfs display and click the declining toolbar button. Now click 2 to see the second generation board made from strips cut through the declining patterns.

Typically, cuts for the next generation are made through the declining patterns of the previous board, but some of the most interesting patterns are made by cutting through the inclining patterns. One way to visualize these cuts is that when cutting through a declining pattern, the cut is mostly perpendicular to the pattern and cutting through an inclining pattern means that the cut is more parallel to the pattern.

This same process can be done prior to advancing to any generation.

I hope that helps, but please let me know if you have additional questions.

p.s. I'm working on a new website that will become the future home of Woodturner PRO and hope to have it done soon. It will have more video tutorials.

Default WooHoo Activity

After I bought the complete package I found this site. I have not seen any traffic but I still do check in because I was hoping to get more instructions on using the product. The help is wonderful in the application please don't get me wrong. I just like some real projects to help me along. I truely have not used the application on a real live project yet. I also only have dial up out here in the country so when you do make videos could you please have a way for members to download them. I could then let it download during the night and auto log offf when it is done and then I can watch the video then next day. That would be appreciated. My wife has asked me to make a bowl for her and I am going to use the tool to do this real soon. I want to make sure I can show her what it will look like before I start. I will post a picture when I get it done. Don't hold your breath I am a very slow woodworker. I am still very new to wood working and use a Shopsmith mark V.
