Glue
I am wondering what you folks might use as a glue when doing a segmented item and including some acrylic acetate (plastic) within the wooden piece. Generally, I only use titebond II for all my items (although I have tried a white Elmers Glue on holly (to lessen the yellowing when gluing two pieces of holly together).
I really do not like Gorilla Glue, but I assume it will work, and I also assume epoxy will work but do not like the normal pot life (I know extended life is available) or the mixing or (for me at least) the mess.
I found what sounds good! It says it dries crystal clear, no mixing, 1 hour drying time with a 24 hour cure time, and water cleanup. It says it will glue: wood, tile, plastic, cork, concrete, china, ceramics, glass, porcelain, marble, corian, leather, metal, and more. The stuff is called "Weldbond." Another plus is: it is non toxic and has no fumes. Anyone ever heard of it or used it?
I know a brand name called "Weldbond" is available in many hardware stores, but that stuff is a brown powdered resin glue which you mix with water. Although that might work, and I have used it with great results on some furniture in the past, it definately will not dry "Crystal Clear!"
