This glider was built using salvaged redwood. I only included this picture because of the story associated. It turns out that many of the cross members on telephone poles are redwood. If a storm comes along, and your area looses some telephone poles, check out your phone company salvage yard. Most likely they will let you have all ya want. This was cut from a piece about 10 ft long, x 5" x 8". It is a great source for redwood if you need some. Some pieces are as much as 12" to 14" thick!

There are generally some holes and there may be some lag screws, but otherwise, it is nice quality!
